I have Asus 500G Deluxe (WL-500G.D_R1.33)

First I tried to launch Debian using modified kernel from OpenWrt Chaos Calmer and pure Debian Jessie mipsel env.
I've got "attempt to kill init, exit code 0x4", which sounds like illegal instruction.

Then i came to this site, downloaded latest kernel and rootfs
Device doesn't even boot.

I've tried to combine my kernel and Jessie's rootfs.
I've got the same "attempt to kill init, exit code 0x4"

By now i downloaded Attitude Adjustment (kernel and rootfs). It works, and i'm happy.

But, nevertheless, what's wrong with Jessie?

Assuming your analysis is correct, my first guess is the OpenWRT kernel didn't get floating-point emulation built-in. The Debian userspace assumes presence of FPU or FPU emulation, so that is one quick thought.

Great idea, MIPS FPU Emulation was off in kernel configuration.
Will check later how it would work.
